Faris Alikhan is the Lead Editor for Technology for Global Security. He is a former speechwriter for Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson. During his time at the Department of Homeland Security, he wrote on counterterrorism, cybersecurity, infrastructure protection, immigration, border security, and many other issues. From 2013 to 2014 he was a National Security Fellow at the Third Way think tank in Washington D.C, where he focused on U.S. grand strategy and nuclear nonproliferation. He has written widely on U.S. foreign policy and national security issues for outlets such as The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Reuters, and others. Faris received a Master's degree in International Relations from Oxford University, and a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science from UCLA.
